JG Metalmorph is the brand established by Jaka Globočnik, the newest link in the generational chain of blacksmiths. Jaka joined the family craft in his early youth. While honoring the classical forging techniques passed down through four generations, he actively explores contemporary metal design, focusing on unique sculptures and artistic metalwork.
JG Metalmorph serves as a dynamic extension of the traditional family business, Splošno kovaštvo Janez Globočnik, and unites modernity and tradition. It focuses on original artistic pieces and the transformation of materials—including recycled components—into valuable art. This philosophy ensures that every piece connects the enduring quality of wrought iron with contemporary design and sustainable thought.
Our Journey
BEGINNINGS
EARLY GLOBOČNIK LEGACY (1927-1949)
The roots of our blacksmith workshop stretch back to 1887, when Matija Likar established and operated the forge. In 1927, the business was acquired by Janez Globočnik (1906), who relocated the operation to its current address at Cerklje 3. Following his death in 1949, the trade was continued by his wife, Julijana Globočnik.
